The Perfect Violet Pot Story

Beverly Pierson's 'The Perfect Violet Pot' is a phenomenon. To begin with, the brilliantly designed ceramic pots have revolutionized the process for growing African violets, creating quite an event in the gardening world. African violets have traditionally been a finicky plant to grow, consistently dying at the hands of their helpless caretakers. These ceramic pots, though, have made that once difficult task an effortless one.

The beautiful and artistic pots have caused quite a stir in the arts and crafts world as well. Because of their acute success, Beverly has become a featured artist in many shows in the southwest United States, being asked to participate by special invitation. Beverly and her violet pots, because of their popularity, have also been used to promote shows, featuring her in the advertisements.

Beverly began working with crafts over 20 years ago. She worked in other craft fields such as macrame, leaded glass, sewn goods and clothing. In 1984, she took a beginner's ceramic class, and this spared her interest as well as her artistic and creative abilities. The talent for ceramics she developed and refined and the technical knowledge she had personally acquired from growing African violets was a natural marriage. After much trail and error, labor and experimentation, with a close attention to artistic detail, "The Perfect Violet Pot" was created.

Besides being a uniquely successful way to grow African violets , the violet pots are elegantly artistic. Their simple beauty, which transcends decorating trends and fads, is reflected in the way each pot is hand-painted, each having a different color combination to compliment the wide color varieties of African violets.

Perhaps the best way, though, to measure the success of Beverly's violet pots is the response of her customers. Many frustrated African violet growers have bought a violet pot as a desperate attempt to revive their dying African violets and then have discovered how perfectly the pots perform.  (In fact, the name of Beverly's business, "The Perfect Violet Pot", was coined by one of her first satisfied customers). A great deal of Beverly's business comes from repeat customers, many returning to buy more for themselves or as gifts. A few customers have become more like "collectors," owning upwards of fifteen or more of Beverly's violet pots.

A successful business, of course, is a great reward in itself. But Beverly feels that the most rewarding aspects of her business is the satisfaction and pure delight her customers have enjoyed because of her violet pots. Beverly says, "When you see a customer again after they bought a violet pot a year or two earlier and they excitedly tell you that their violet is still blooming and doing well, it really gives you a good sense of accomplishment It's great knowing your work is so well-appreciated."

Violets need to stay evenly moist at all times, and that is exactly what The Perfect Violet Pot does. You will never have to guess when your violet needs water again. With The Perfect Violet Pot, the plant slowly and evenly drinks through the unglazed lower half of the top pot. The two piece self-watering violet pot completely eliminates the guesswork for you. Just refill the bottom pot with water every 2-3 weeks.

The violet pot comes in a large variety of colors, textures, and glazes. Complete planting and growing instructions are included with the shipment of your order.
